Why?

Why?

I was fumbling through my phone yesterday and put in the search term “Autism”- and Whoa-so much came up! It was like walking back in time. I explored where our family was almost every year and appreciated our pain, setbacks, growth and successes.

When you take a moment to reflect it gives you the opportunity to re-evaluate and accept your decisions.

I accept that my family’s goal was inclusivity on some level.

I accept that we wanted to know if our daughter’s challenges would allow her to live a life similar to the one we imagined for our other daughter.

I accept that we wanted a supportive parent network to alleviate isolation.

I accept that we wanted to create a space for siblings who needed a separate level of support.

I accept that we wanted social opportunities, buddy group and circle of friends who had shared experiences.

After getting lost in the past – I am comfortable with the WHY!
