Transparency and accountability

Transparency and accountability

I am a board member of the National Non-Profit, Council for Parents, Attorneys and Advocates, (“COPAA”). The organization advocates for all those living with disabilities. We have parental groups, attorney training, examination of existing law and most importantly we advocate for equity.

The attorneys who organize, educate and appear before the Supreme Court are both gladiators and angels. They ensure there is a voice for those who cannot speak.
Recently I spoke with a friend who is currently experiencing challenges. I listened, provided advice to the extent I was able and began researching solutions for her. As I was reviewing material I thought about how grateful I am for COPAA and the education my family received over the past 13 years.

Everyone needs a safe place to call home.
Everyone needs a group to belong to.
Everyone needs a friendly ear.
Everyone needs someone to go to battle for them.

To the many COPAA friends, parents, advocates and attorneys -THANK YOU for placing a priority on transparency and accountability.
