Good time ALL around!

Good time ALL around!

I took my husband on a rare date night doing something that he would want to do instead of what I want to do- AND that is go to a Buccaneers football game. I had planned it for months leading up to his birthday in October, but I wanted to specifically go to a Monday night football game to see “THE GOAT” Tom Brady!

It was a big deal for a lot of reasons. We have had a fair amount of stress related to helping our daughter finish her first semester of college successfully and dealing with some of the challenges related to losing a loved one. So I was determined to be in the moment and just have fun.
No matter how late we arrive-
No matter what happened on the way- I was determined to have fun AND make my husband smile.

We get there late of course. Missed tailgating and pre-game fun. We parked WAY too far away but we made it just in time for kick-off and the seats were lovely.

Throughout the game I spent more time watching people than the players. I noticed the pure joy on peoples faces. I notice people becoming really intoxicated! But I also noticed the human connection we all feel when we’re doing something we love. It was a beautiful spontaneous moment.

Unfortunately most of the game was a snooze. By halftime people were out done. They wanted movement they wanted action they wanted to see “The GOAT” do his thing. But he simply wasn’t ready. Right at the fourth quarter I would be generous and saying that a good half of the stadium got up to leave. We left with them and as soon as we exit the stadium we hear a roar that is simply hard to describe. “The GOAT” did his thing!

We walked to the car which seemed like miles away watching the game on your phone. We smiled all the way witnessing magic. We cheered like we were in the stadium and enjoyed the moment.

So many takeaways from the night. Never give up on someone
Patience is clearly a virtue
Someone may be down but not out for the count
If you wait long enough you will see the blessing you long for.

Who knew football had that much to do with ASD but it does.

Good time ALL around!
