Answer is ALWAYS yes

Answer is ALWAYS YES Sounds strange but when you are supporting a loved one on the Spectrum, somehow the answer is ALWAYS YES. You watch them go through life with so many people saying no- you feel compelled to say YES and just MAKE it happen. Reflecting back over the years there have been many times when we had no idea how to say YES – we just did!

• Can I go to a normal school – YES
• Can I try-out for the cheerleading team and travel with the other kids – YES
• Can I go to ballet and perform in annual productions – YES
• Can I go to sleep away camp every summer – YES
• Can I live an INDEPENDENT Life??? YES!

We do partners push their kids? Well like any other parent we want our children to live productive, meaningful, independent lives. We want them to contribute to the fabric of the community where they live. We want them to not just exist- we want them to thrive! So for all the parents who continue to fight for – YES – keep pushing- Independence is want every person wants in this life.
