So, gratitude is the THEME this month. My big girl/GROWN young woman is officially leaving the nest to pursue an amazing summer opportunity. I say this because it is the first year our daughter will not come home for the entire summer.
It is surreal! You spend a life-time raising these bundles of joy and then they fly away. Our daughter was accepted into the NU Chicago Humanities Initiative Northwestern Center for Civic Engagement. During the program she will have the opportunity to explore the role of the humanities in public life.
To say I am proud is an understatement. She is pursuing her dreams, giving back to the world through civic engagement which a skill set I VALUE in all human beings. Most importantly, her smile says it all!
