My older daughter, Chloe is exceptional. And the older we grow in the journey of supporting her sister in the spectrum the more grateful I am that she is whole and intact. Chloe was selected to present on her research and analysis on her doctoral degree emphasis. I was SO excited to see her shine in her own environment. Chloe is fiercely intellectual and knows her stuff. My husband and I were dumbfounded as we listened to her explain the legacy and nuances of Porgy and Bess. Just WOW! As I watched her I was reminded of how much Every CHILD needs you! Chloe is not a shy rose and honestly would not allow us-even if inadvertently- to fail her. BUT it is hard to balance your Childrens needs when one of them needs more. I am sure we weren’t perfect as parents-NO ONE is-but what a joy to know we did not totally mess up.
