A Whole New World

Next week we are embarking on a whole NEW world! Funny how things turn out. My husband and I met in Atlanta. Our older daughter went to school in Atlanta and here we go again! Every time I return to this city that means so much to us I see it so differently. The areas my husband and I enjoyed remain favorites for both of our daughters and although we do not have room, (since we both lived our best lives) to caution our children now young adults we do have reason for concern. I guess every generation struggles with this but I think it is fair to say when you have a child -now young adult- on the spectrum you struggle slightly more.

I was randomly at a store with our daughter when a woman asked how I felt about our daughter taking off to a new city. She look petrified for me but confirmed what I know to be true. We cannot control the future. We can only live in the moment and let others- even when it is difficult to let them live their lives as well- so it is off to a Whole New World! While I have reservations- I know letting her experience LIFE is the best gift you can give to someone who lives life
with restrictions.
