Best Day Ever
Last week I had the honor of receiving an award from Academy Prep, (“AP”) a middle school dedicated to shaping the lives of those without equity who are primarily brown and black children. The honor titled, Fabulous Five Females honors women committed to excellence in their field and community and most importantly connected to the cause of inclusion. I cannot tell you how much this award meant to me. A young lady at AP introduced me and I could see myself in her in EVERY WAY!

- Her strength
- Her intellect
- Her Black Girl Magic
During that brief moment it was like walking back in time, speaking to my younger self and telling her – you will be just find. There are THOUSANDS of girls like you. Just keep doing the work and you will SEE.
