This past year I took a powerful course under the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council, Partners in Policymaking. The course provides intense education on various areas within the disability community and trains participants to be zealous advocates. During my time there I met incredible people.

A few of my classmates, however, left a significant impact because they had true lived experience. These self-advocates were clear about their presentation and how they wanted to share what inclusivity means.

Recently one of my classmates was featured in Uniquely You, a publication that highlights the strength of the disability community. I am so proud of her for exercising her voice and educating the community on the importance of possibilities.
