This photo looks like any other photo but is actually an end of an ERA! For 23 years I have been a member of Jack and Jill, Inc., a premier African American mother’s organization for children. The organization began during a time period where African American families with means did not have the same access to their white counterparts. Over the years it has evolved into a social and civic oriented organization.
My family joined the organization in 2001. SOOOOO I have been a member for 23 years. This photo marked the end of an ERA! I am grateful for the way our village stepped into support our daughter. Often times people walk away when they do not understand disorders like Autism Spectrum Disorder, (ASD) but our chapter- the Suncoast Jack and Jill Chapter ACCEPTED our daughter as she is.
