Our daughter has attended American Stage for the better part of 10 years. During this time she has had numerous performances, either dancing or singing or acting. This year was the first time she learned the art of film.
Honestly because she is now aging out we have not paid too much attention to the platform. So when our daughter invited us to attend her end week showing we did not know what to expect.
To our surprise we walked into a movie premiere- red carpet and all!
The film- Murder in the Mic was her first short film and she actually received credit! The best part of the day was the “talk-back” where audience members asked the actors questions. One of the responses was spot on! The actor said this is the first time I felt truly included and understood. We felt the same way for our daughter on the spectrum. Inclusion changes lives.
Thank you to American Stafe and Mr. C to exposing our youth to the industry.
