Lady Sings the Blues
Everyone experiences the blues at some point in their life. I was at this point recently when I decided their is just too much to do in 24 hours. Now that we are “post-COVID” and people are returning to their version of normal it is hard to determine how to engage.
Some people require face to face interaction, some value being in a zoom space and want to remain there. Some want it both ways- travel to a meeting to Zoom! Everyone wants an immediate answer and we are working from our homes, cars, offices, cafes and yes in the meetings that we rushed to attend. It is no wonder the brain needs to shut down.
I genuinely pride myself on having the ability to handle a lot of pressure, but the question became should I continue to absorb this level of pressure at a sustained pace. Well the answer is NO. As my Grandmother used to say- God needs you to rest so you can give your very BEST.
I always took her wisdom to heart and in this case she could not be more right. The blues come and go generally for most humans- but they stay when we do not give our bodies what they need.
- Rest and sleep- they are completely different
- Drink water, eat sensibly and think positively
- Stop multi-tasking
- Be present
- Let go and allow room for new experiences and growth
- Say goodbye to the Lady and her Blues!
