Making THEIR own way
With every child there becomes a time when you realize they are not mini-versions of yourselves. It can be quite jarring to learn-even through we know this- that we are raising Human Beings- who have their own desires, goals and aspirations. It happens right around 15 and it is happening to us now.
The roles are reversed. Time to listen! Our daughter is making her OWN way. Recently she shared some of her ideas surrounding d what the next couple of years may look like. I was mesmerized and I do not know why. We plant the seeds, water them and then they grow and it is time for harvest. The cycle of life is an ongoing battle of acceptance. But I believe we are ready and don’t have much choice -because our daughter certainly is.
