Milestones- She has a permit!

Yesterday was surreal. As my daughter and I drove to the DMV I couldn’t help but think of all the milestones she has accomplished. When so many people tell you-NO-The victories are that much sweeter. Our family learned a long time ago not to listen to negativity. And – I’m so glad we continue to filter out Naysayers who said our daughter could not thrive with ASD. Some people are very well-meaning when they tell you NO-but It is our job as parents-To get to YES!

So YES– our daughter worked extremely hard to pass the drivers test to get her permit.

And YES the next goal is to make sure she actually receives her drivers license.

And YES we plan to get her moving on the roads.

And YES we plan to have many more milestones that end with YES she did it!

And YES the journey ahead for more milestones will continue to be difficult- but we are anxiously awaiting more sweet successes.
