Oops She Did It Again

Oops She Did It Again

My daughter never ceases to amaze me. When ever she sets a goal-she meets it.  Even when there is a goal set as she has no idea how to tackle she figures out a way to make it work. Nine years ago I left my law practice to make myself available for my daughter and to help nurture her as we navigated her new diagnosis of ASD.

Many people with good intentions told me to brace myself for the worst and hope for the best. To hear your child is not capable over and over again alters your spirit. Sometimes you battle bouts of anger and other times you battle tears. You let go of expectations and you live in the NOW.

I purposely surrounded myself with people in the industry that I felt would educate me on ASD. There were so many angels who stepped in over the years to help me and I still have trouble keeping track.  I am eternally grateful for their genuine support and for hearing me.  Beyond the negative chatter speech, occupational, behavioral, physical therapists and advocates told me she would succeed.  This week she hit another milestone. She successfully passed a difficult test and will attend a prestigious high school. She achieved this on her own and is proud of her hard work.
She did it again. – Go baby go!!
