I had one of the greatest evenings of my life this week. I had the honor of meeting Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first African American Woman to sit on the United States Supreme Court. It was an intimate setting and I was overwhelmed by the opportunity to sit in the presence of someone I admire and for whom I have a shared life experience.
The parallels were insane!
~Justice Jackson is 1 year older than me
~She has been married to her college sweetheart for 28 years- same
~She is transparent with her challenges of balancing career and motherhood- Same!
~AND she has a daughter with Autism.
I could not believe it. What I loved most about her is her presence. In the short time we were able to share space it was clear that this woman CARES about people and in the brief time she has been on this earth has a Lifetime of wisdom.
Thank you KBJ
