This GREEN Dot may not seem like much but for our family it is GOLD! We have been waiting for this moment for what seems a lifetime. The GREEN Dot represents our daughter’s completion from St. Petersburg College with her Associates of Arts. It is a BIG deal, and we are incredibly proud!
Our family is often asked how we supported our child now teen with a rigorous academic program. Looking back the only answer we have is our commitment to advocacy.
My husband would say I was aggressive, but the truth is to support your loved one on the spectrum you must know their strengths and weaknesses, know their abilities to acclimate to new environments and be candid with your family as you measure expectations.
