Humility Radiates

Humility Radiates

So I recently wrote about Prof. Jason Arday and his journey to becoming a Sociology professor and one who explores race equity and inclusion in higher education spaces at the University of Cambridge. Hearing his personal values and WHY he is so driven is powerful!

Dr. Arday explains that we have to create spaces for differential learning to build better opportunities for diverse populations. I could not agree more. When we open doors and expand viewpoints we strengthen our communities.

I am still amazed at Dr. Arday’s commitment to helping others. It is refreshing to see his humility radiate when he has no reason to be humble.

I am currently at an annual disability conference, COPAA-Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, Inc. Every time I attend this conference I am reminded that the caring practitioners and parents who attend this conference are paving the way for future successful professionals like Dr. Arday who in his own words “INSPIRES so many to do as much MORE!”

Jason Arday, autistic and unable to speak until age 11, will be youngest Black professor ever at Cambridge University
