My daughter is a teenager now. Officially! When I think of the many years of occupational therapy, speech therapy, behavioral therapy, canine, equine and aquatic therapy, camps, a plethora of social programs and traditional activities WITH SUPPORT! Having done all of this, I now realize we are just getting started. One of my daughter’s physicians informed me that I should place my mask on – as you do in the airplane – and then take care of her. I did not fully understand that until now. As soon as you feel you have hit a stride, a growth spurt occurs, and you feel as if you have to start all over again. I am at a new space once more. This time, however, I am also at a new space of acceptance, and I am putting my mask on.
