What a Difference a Year Makes!

Exactly one year ago our daughter on the spectrum stepped onto SCAD, the Savannah College of Arts and Design’s campus. It was incredible to see her reaction to finding a space where she simply knew she could thrive and call home. I remember every detail of the trip.

Our daughter was completely focused. She absorbed every part of the campus. I had never seen her so engaged. She asked a ton of questions and explored every nook and cranny of the campus. What was so special about this place?

  • Acceptance
  • Creativity
  • Innovation
  • Support

Our daughter felt all of this and applied right away. I literally left the room for a brief moment, and she APPLIED!

It had all gone so fast. She was accepted in October, we toured and toured and toured and now it is time to prepare for the next steps- Fall Semester.

I do not know what the next phase looks like but I am grateful we are here. It has been a challenging year, but she is HERE!

What a difference a YEAR makes!
